Data protection declaration

This Internet service is operated by Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG based in 75015 Bretten, Germany.

Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG (hereinafter referred to as MULTIPLEX) takes personal data protection very seriously, and undertakes to collect and use all personal data in accordance with the appropriate data protection legislation.

MULTIPLEX wishes to use the present data protection declaration to explain to you which data we absolutely require, and how you can obtain extra benefit by voluntarily providing additional data. We only collect and store your data if you have given us permission to do this.

§ 1 Personal data

If you register to take part in a competition, to receive an e-mail newsletter, to participate in a forum or the Community, or to use particular web applications, we will ask you for a few items of personal information. In every case we only request the data we require in order to deliver the requested application or service. We may request the following, depending on the application or service requested:

E-mail address, family name and first name, address, country, date of birth, telephone or mobile phone number, title. The required data fields are marked with an asterisk.

§ 2 Use of your essential data

MULTIPLEX always asks you for your name, address and other essential information if, for example, you wish to make use of an interactive service, or register to receive a newsletter, take part in a competition or the forum or the Community. In this case we ask you for the personal data required for the service concerned and its personalisation. MULTIPLEX records your consent to collect and store the data. However, if you do not grant your consent, we will be unable to deliver the selected application or service. When you access this website we store possible identification data (IP address) and additional information (date, time of day, site viewed) on our server for data security purposes. The data you provide are not analysed except for statistical purposes, in which case they are in anonymised or pseudonymised form (i.e. IP address abbreviated to domain level). All your personal information is used solely for the purposes which you have requested from us.

§ 3 Transfer of personal data

The information you supply, as stated in paragraph 2, is only used by MULTIPLEX for internal company purposes. We never transfer it to other parties, except to such companies as are involved in in the fulfilment of the contracts you have concluded. With this exception, your personal data are not passed to third parties unless we have an obligation to transfer them – typically due to a judicial or administrative directive – or unless you have granted us your express permission to do so. For example, when you request a particular service, we may offer you the opportunity to request further promotional material, or to agree to the sending of promotional material. If we transfer your data to advertising partners for this purpose, or if your data are to be used by third parties, then we expressly and clearly inform you of this. You alone can actively request this at the time of application by means of what is known as a “double opt-in process”. This procedure ensures that your data cannot be misused. Your consent can be cancelled at any time, with effect for the future. All you need to do is send an informal letter to this effect to Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG, Westliche Gewerbestr. 1, 75015 Bretten, Germany.

§ 4 Type of data analysis

MULTIPLEX carries out analysis of users’ behaviour on the sites of MULTIPLEX portals. The reason for this is the wish on the part of MULTIPLEX constantly to improve its services. This analysis work is not personalised, i.e. it is carried out using pseudonymised data.

You can cancel at any time the pseudonymised use of your data for the improvement of our services: send your cancellation notice to the address stated under § 7.

MULTIPLEX also uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies (see § 6: Use of cookies) whose purpose is to enable the analysis of our website usage. The information generated by the cookie which records your use of this website is transferred to a Google server in the USA, where it is stored. MULTIPLEX uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()”, which means that any further processing of the IP addresses passed to Google is carried out in an abbreviated form, in order to exclude direct personal reference. Google uses this information to analyse your visit to the website, so that it can produce reports about website activities for MULTIPLEX, and produce additional services connected with the website and internet use. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where this is legally permissible, or where third parties process these data under contract to Google. Google will never combine your IP address with other Google data. You can prevent the installation of the Google Analytics cookie by changing a setting in your browser software. However, we wish to point out that this action may prevent you making full use of all the functions of MULTIPLEX websites. The collection and storage of data for Google Analytics can be cancelled at any time with effect for the future. This is performed by the Google browser add-on (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) which disables Google Analytics. The browser add-on informs Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) that no information concerning your website visit is to be passed to Google Analytics. § 6 Use of cookies

Cookies are small files containing configuration information, conforming to the Information Community for Establishing the Distribution of Promotional Media e.V. (IVW), and changing advertising partners. Their sole purpose is to record the frequency of visits and the number of users of our website, and to optimise the insertion of advertising messages. Certain sites deliver advertisements from companies or agencies directly. As a result cookies may be used when we have no influence on them, or are unable to make you aware of them; in this case the reference is made by the advertiser. In some areas of our websites cookies are used to implement user functions. Cookies cannot recognise, store or transfer personal data. This means that the data are not used to identify you as visitor to the website. Our only purpose in using these cookies is to enable us to analyse how visitors use our websites, and subsequently to customise the content of our sites more accurately to the user’s requirements.

§ 7 Erasing personal data

At any time you can cancel your agreement concerning the collection and storage of your personal data in writing or electronically. If you wish to do this, please write to Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG, Westliche Gewerbestr. 1, 75015 Bretten, Germany, or send a fax to 07252 58093-99. MULTIPLEX will then erase your data.

If you should cancel the collection, storage and processing of your data, MULTIPLEX will be unable to provide certain services, such as delivering the newsletter, or participation in competitions.

§ 8 Additional notes on data protection

Please bear in mind that it is always possible for other parties to collect and use your personal information if you have voluntarily made that data known online (e.g. in chat rooms, in e-mails, in forums). This means that you might receive unwanted messages from others if you publish personal information online in areas with public access. Always behave cautiously and responsibly when online, and take care to keep your password and / or other personal information secret.

§ 9 Expanded data usage

You can approve or cancel by clicking in the appropriate field. Your granted or denied permission is recorded; the user is entitled to cancel its content at any time in writing.

Once the user has voluntarily and expressly granted consent, Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG is entitled to collect, process (e.g. modify, store for further processing, combine with other data sets and archive) and use personal data – i.e. profile and demographic data – for the following purposes:

Sending of information from Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG, personalisation and customisation of this service by Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG in the interests and to the preference of the user, advertising and market research for Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG.

If the user has granted permission, Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG is not obliged to erase the usage data at the earliest opportunity, i.e. immediately after the end of a particular process; the company is entitled to store the data.

If the user has granted permission, Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG is also entitled to pass on his personal data to co-operating partners for the purposes of advertising, market research, product and service information, delivery of proposals for the completion of contracts for goods and services, and for further information via a newsletter customised to the interests of the user.

Consent can be cancelled by the user for the future at any time. Permission for expanded usage can also be cancelled; if you do this, all the data are erased at Multiplex Modellsport GmbH & Co.KG. If permission has been granted for data to be passed on to co-operating partners, the latter will be informed immediately of this, and will be requested to erase the data. It is also possible to maintain the usage agreement, and only cancel permission for expanded analysis of the data for the future.

Consents and agreement declarations do not extend to information, offers and advertising checks by telephone.

§ 10 Reserved right of amendment

MULTIPLEX reserves the right to update this data protection declaration at any time taking legal requirements into account. We give information about updated texts on our websites, and ask you to grant any consents which may be required.
